Xiong Named Region Player of the Year; Three Make Tennis All-Region

Jackson County High School's Skylar Xiong has been named the Region 8-AAAAA girls tennis Player of the Year. Senior Luke Hayes and junior Quy Lan Johnson were also named First Team All-Region.
Xiong finished her junior season with a 15-2 record at No. 1 singles, while Johnson was 16-1 in No. 2 singles. Hayes, competing in just his second season of varsity competition, was 11-2 in No. 3 singles for the boys. All three players went undefeated in region competition and helped their teams to the state playoffs.
The Lady Panthers won the Region 8 championship and won a first-round playoff match. The Panthers finished third in the region.
