The Jackson County varsity boys wrestling program went 4-0 at the Madison County Turkey Duals on Tuesday. The Panthers defeated Oconee County 47-34, Marist 56-15, Madison County 57-15 and Eastside 37-36.
The Panthers were led by Domynic Thompson (126 pounds), Braden Coleman (138 pounds), Xavier Cepican (165 pounds), and Zach Scott (175 pounds), all of whom went 4-0 in matches on the day. Mason Johnson (113 pounds), Donovan Spry (120 pounds), David Warr (150 pounds) and Bordy Coleman (190 pounds) went 3-1 on the day. Daylan Maxwell (157 pounds) and Andrew Phillips (157 pounds) went 2-0 on the day.
JCHS' Skoda Wins Tournament Championship: Jackson County's Anna Skoda finished as tournament champion in the Battle in the Brier Patch Tournament, posting a 5-0 record. Abby Andersen finished runner-up with a 4-1 record. Vanessa Salinas finished 2-2, Marlie Sanchez finished 3-2 and Aubree Dobbs went 4-1, all placing third.
