The Jackson County volleyball team claimed the Region 8-AAAAA championship Thursday night with a 3-1 win over Loganville in the region championship game held at Panther Pavilion at Jackson County High School.
The Panthers will now host the No. 4 seed from Region 2-AAAAA in the first round of the state playoffs.
Paisley Gillespie, who was named the Region 8 Player of the Year, led the way with 19 kills in the championship match, followed by Sophia Parker wth 17. Ava Lesniak finished with a team-best 24 digs, followed by Ally Page with 16 and Gillespie with 13.
Page finished the championship match with a team-best 45 assists. First round playoff information will be made available at a later date.
