While its work inside the Region 8-AAAAA tournament is far from over, the Jackson County volleyball team clinched a berth in the state playoffs Monday night with a 25-19, 25-13 win over Apalachee. The Panthers are guaranteed at least the No. 4 seed, but have more to play for Tuesday night. A win Tuesday over Loganville secures the Panthers at least the No. 2 seed and an appearance in the region championship.

Ava Lesniak had seven digs in the win over Apalachee Monday night, while Gia Blanco had five kills and two blocks. Sophia Parker had 11 kills and three digs, while Holly Ann Keefer had seven kills, 11 assists and four digs.

Tuesday's match begins at 6 p.m.
