Jackson County's softball never trailed and beat the Archer Tigers 5-4 Monday night, improving to 4-1 on the season.
The Lady Panthers raced out to a 3-0 first-inning lead before Archer scored two runs in the bottom of the first and another in the second to tie the game at 3-3. Jackson County scored two runs in the top of the fourth and withstood a late charge in the sixth from Archer to secure the win.
Jackson County tallied eight hits on the night. Emery Schiffmann was 2 for 4 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in, while Miabella Lee was 2 for 4 with a two-run triple in the first inning. She also scored a run in the win. PJ Walker was 2 for 3 at the plate.
Jackson County faces Grayson and Clarke Central tonight.
