Softball Rallies For 1-0 Start

Softball Rallies For 1-0 Start

After having their season opener rained out, the Jackson County varsity softball team opened the 2025 season with a come-from-behind win over Stephens County Wednesday night. The Lady Panthers rallied back from an early 6-0 second-inning deficit to earn an 11-9 win and improve to 1-0 on the season.

The Panthers scored five runs in the fourth, which included a two-run home run from Miabella Lee, five in the fifth and another in the seventh to complete the comeback. Reese Wilson, Emery Schiffmann, Lauren Glander and PJ Walker each finished the night with a pair of hits, while Schiffmann, Ryleigh O'Brien, Lee, and Sofia McCafferty each finished with two runs scored.

In the circle, M Clenden pitched five innings of relief to earn the win, allowing three earned runs on four hits.
