Jackson County took another step toward securing a home playoff series on Tuesday night, defeating Winder-Barrow 9-1 inside Panther Park. The Panthers (14-4, 8-2 Region 8-AAAAA) need a win on Thursday night at Alcovy to secure the No. 2 seed from Region 8.
Emery Schiffmann led the way with three hits Tuesday night, driving in three runs. Miabella Lee also drove in three runs after going 2-f0r-4 at the plate. Reese Wilson scored three of the Panthers' runs, while Addison Ryder scored two runs. Altogether, six Panthers scored a run in the win over Winder-Barrow.
Adalyn Mitchell threw a complete game, allowing one unearned run on five hits, while striking out six.
