The Jackson County softball team found its winning ways Tuesday night, defeating Habersham Central 10-1 in Region 8-AAAAA play.
Ryleigh O'Brien led the way with three hits for the Lady Panthers, who raced out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning before adding five in the third and two more in the fourth inning. Jackson County finished the night with nine hits. Miabella Lee finished with hits and two runs scored, while O'Brien finished with three runs scored and two runs batted in. PJ Walker and Lauren Glander also finished with two RBIs.
Emery Schiffman earned the win in the circle, allowing one earned run in the top of the fifth inning, surrendering just five hits in the game. Jackson County hosts Clarke Central in region play on Tuesday, Sept. 17, and visits Grayson in non-region play on Sept. 18, and region foe Loganville on Sept. 19.
