Softball Bounces Back, Downs Apalachee in 7th

Jackson County's softball team bounced back from a region loss Tuesday night against Loganville with a 4-3 walk-off win over Apalachee Thursday night. The Lady Panthers are now 7-2 overall and 2-1 in Region 8-AAAAA.

Miabellea Lee hit a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring Emery Schiffmann to lift the Panthers to the win. Jackson County took a 2-1 lead in the second inning before falling behind 3-2 and then tying the game even again at 3-3 in the fourth inning. 

Schiffman and P.J. Walker each recorded two hits on the night for Jackson County, with Walker scoring a team-high two runs. Sofia McCafferty led the way with three runs batted in from the No. 9 batting spot. 

Adalyn Mitchell pitched the entire game, striking out nine Apalachee batters and allowing just one earned run on the night. JCHS visits Winder-Barrow on Thursday.
