Volleyball Opens Region Play With 2 Wins

Jackson County's volleyball team opened Region 8-AAAAA competition Tuesday night with a pair of dominating wins over Winder Barrow (25-7, 25-9) and Habersham Central (25-10, 25-12) to improve to 19-6 overall and 2-0 in region play.
Holly Ann Keefer finished with eight aces against Winder-Barrow and totaled 17 kills between the two matches. Ava Lesniak finished with five aces against the Bulldoggs and 11 digs against Habersham Central, while Siena Berthold finished with 11 total kills.
​Jackson County hosts Clarke Central at 5 p.m. and Apalachee at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
