The Jackson County boys basketball team earned a Class AAAAA state playoff berth on Tuesday night with a 51-48 victory over Alcovy in the Region 8 tournament. This is the Panthers' first state playoff berth since 2016. The Panthers face Habersham Central in the region semifinals on Thursday at Habersham Central.
Logan Tullis hit the go-ahead 3-pointer to give the Panthers their final lead of the night. Tullis finished with 14 points in the win. Jacob Lee finished with 10 points and six rebounds, while RJ Knapp recorded nine points, six rebounds and six assists. EJ Heath had seven points and seven rebounds.
