Panther Wrestling Competes in Commerce, Oglethorpe Duals

The Jackson County boys wrestling program competed in a pair of dual events this week. The Panthers went 2-2 at the Commerce Duals and undefeated to win the championship at the Doug Eberhardt Memorial Tournament at Oglethorpe High School. The Panthers earned a pair of wins over North Oconee, 43-34, and Commerce, 46-27, in the Commerce Duals before defeating Hampton, 82-0, Winder-Barrow, 72-9, Putnam County, 75-6, and Oglethorpe County, 41-24. 

In Commerce, 132-pound competitor Dylan Jurovschi finished 4-0, while Malachi Kahele-Carranco (120 pounds), Domynic Thompson (126 pounds), David Warr (150 pounds), Daylan Maxwell (157 pounds), Xavier Cepican (165 pounds) and Alonso Ortiz (286 pounds) each finished with a 3-1 mark. 

At Oglethorpe, Austin Jurovschi (106 pounds), Donovan Spry (113), Kahele-Carranco, Thompson, Toby Jurovschi (138 pounds), Beau Hoffman (144 pounds), Warr and Ortiz finished with a 4-0 record, while Cepican finished with a 3-0 mark. Maxwell and Glenn Graham (190 pounds) finished with a 3-1 record in the tournament. 

The Panthers are now 14-3 in dual competition this season.
