Panther Tennis Earns Wins Over Bethlehem Christian
The Jackson County tennis teams earned a pair of victories of Bethlehem Christian Academy on Tuesday. The girls team won 5-0 and the boys 3-2.
QuyLan Johnson earned the first point for the Lady Panthers with a 6-0, 6-1 victory. Skylar Xiong made it 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-1 win, while MaiXuan Johnson earned the win in the final singles match of the day by a score of 6-0, 6-1. In doubles action, Brooklyn Clerici and Lily Potter fought to a 7-5, 6-2 victory, and Rylee Kohan and Armani Ly had an easier time at two doubles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory.
The boys earned their first points with a doubles victory by Collier Uesseler and Avery Gordon by a score of 6-2, 6-2. In one of the most impressive displays in tennis, Harrison Chan and Jarrett Burch earned a golden set (they didn't surrender a single point during any games in that set) and almost earned a golden match by surrendering just one point the whole match in a 6-0, 6-0 victory. At No. 1 singles, Clayton Fairbank played for about two and a half hours, with one game in the second set lasting thirty minutes. Fairbanks earned a 6-4, 6-4 victory that give the Panthers a 3-1 lead.
Jackson County plays East Jackson in tennis on Thursday.
