Panther Baseball Takes Down Lanier
The Jackson County baseball team used 10 hits and strong pitching to propel past the Lanier Longhorns by a score of 15-5 on Wednesday night, earning the first region victory of the season in the process.
Jack Teague earned the win on the mound with three innings pitched, allowing three earned runs and four strikeouts, while Kole Hill threw two innings and allowed no earned runs with one strikeout.
At the plate, a balanced attack benefited the Panthers. Sam Bradley, Mitchell Bryce and Colin Price each drove in two runs on the night. Brice Branton was a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and an RBI, while Wes Ashcraft and Brody Strickland each drove in a run.
Jackson County hosts Gainesville tonight and visits Lanier on Friday, weather permitting.
