Jackson County senior Erin O'Brien finished in first place with a time of 19:22.85 to claim the North Georgia Championships at Lamar Murphy Park Saturday.
O'Brien's strong performance fueled the Lady Panthers to a second-place finish in the meet. Jordan Starling (21.28.94), Loralai Eager (21:29.75), Kendall Goetzman (21:38.97) and Ingrid Casillas (23:30.13) rounded out the top five for the Lady Panthers.
Freshman Elijah Avrett broke the school-record in the boys' race, finishing with a time of 16:53.41, while Gavin Howland finished at 17:09.35. Adam Thomas. (18:09.64), Brody Wooten (18:42.36) and Gabe Spivey (18:51.79) rounded out the top five for the Panthers.
