​Multiple Panthers Finish High In First Track Meet

In their first track meet of the season, amidst raining conditions at Peachtree Ridge High School, multiple Jackson County Panthers finished inside the top five of their events. 

Senior Erin O'Brien finished in first place in the girls' 1600-meter run with a time of 5:33.75, while teammate Jordan Starling finished second in the event. O'Brien and Starling finished second and third, respectively, in the 800-meter run, with Cassidy Lugo finishing fourth. 

Sophomore Alaina Phillips finished second in the girls' 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.57 and third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 29.09 seconds. Junior Sole Bailey finished third in the girls' 100-meter dash with a time of 13.10 seconds. 

Freshman Elijah Avrett finished fourth in both the boys' 1600-meter and 800-meter runs. Avrett finished the 1600-meter with a time of 4:57.11 and the 800-meter with a time of 2:13.40. Jacob Coombs finished second in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.04, while Tyler Mobbs finished third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.46 seconds.
