On the heels of a no-hitter against Alcovy, Adalyn Mitchell allowed just one hit in seven innings of work to lift the Jackson County softball team past Habersham Central on Thursday night, 4-0.
Mitchell struck out 13 batters in the win, while walking just one. She finished the week with 28 strikeouts. At the plate, Emery Schiffmann was 2 for 4 with two runs batted in and a run scored, while Lauren Glander was 3 for 3 and Sofia McCafferty was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.
Jackson County is now 10-3 overall and 5-1 in Region 8 and is ranked inside the top 10 in Class AAAAA. Jackson County visits Clarke Central on Thursday night and hosts Loganville on Sept. 23 in region action.
