Madelyn Drucker led the way with 20 points and the Jackson County girls basketball team opened Region 8-AAAAA play Tuesday night with a massive 72-55 win on the road at Habersham Central. Drucker's 20 points went along with her team-best seven rebounds and were complimented by a double-double from Ka'Mya Washington.
Washington finished the night with 16 points and 10 assists, along with six rebounds and seven assists. Maddie Harkins scored 19 points for the Lady Panthers while also leading the way on the defensive end with a team-best seven steals. Macey McCutcheon had eight points and Lillie Vick finished with four points and six rebounds.
Jackson County (7-3, 1-0) has won five straight contests and visits East Jackson Thursday night before hosting the Jaxco Holiday Hoopfest later this month inside Panther Pavilion.
