​Keefer Named Region Player of the Year; Other Panthers Honored

Keefer named Region 8 Player of the Year

Jackson County's Holly Ann Keefer has been named the Region 8-AAAAA volleyball Player of the Year, the region announced following Thursday's region championship match that saw the Panthers beat Loganville in four sets. Keefer led six total Panthers being named All-Region. JCHS head coach Laura Keefer was also named the region's Coach of the Year, coming in her first year as the Panthers' head coach.

Siena Berthold, Ava Lesniak, Sophia Parker, Hannah Stovall and Chloe Wright were all named to the All-Region team.

Keefer, in her first year at Jackson County High School, finished with 259 kills, 110 aces, 472 assists, 17 blocks and 211 digs to earn the title of the region's best player. Lesniak finished with 81 aces, 313 digs and 108 assists to earn First-Team honors. Parker (245 kills, 45 digs, 21 blocks), Berthold (222 kills, 58 digs, 23 blocks) and Stovall (110 kills, 11 blocks, 23 digs) were also named First Team. Wright (88 aces and 160 digs) was named to the region's Second Team.
