JCHS Volleyball Claims Battle at the Creek
Jackson County's volleyball team improved to 24-6 on the season with a perfect 5-0 record on Saturday at the Battle at the Creek, held at Johns Creek High School.
The Lady Panthers more impressively did not drop a set in the five wins, claiming five straight 2-0 victories. Jackson County started by defeated St. Francis 25-6, 25-16, then East Coweta 25-13, 25-20. Jackson County then knocked off South Effingham 25-19, 25-10 before defeating East Coweta for a second time; 25-16, 26-24.
In the final match, Jackson County defeated host Johns Creek 25-17, 25-13.
Siena Berthold finished with 42 kills on the day, followed by Paisley Gillespie with 40. Ava Lesniak finished with a team-best 41 digs, while Berthold finished with 29 and Gillespie 25. Berthold also finished with a team-best 10 aces, followed by Sophia Parker's eight and Ally Page's six. Page recorded a team-best 85 assists in the tournament.
