The Jackson County High School varsity swim team earned its first team victory on Friday night at the Habersham Central Pirate Plunge. The Panthers finished first ahead of in-county foe Jefferson.
Jackson County’s Sam Bilyashevych qualified for the Class AAAAAA State Meet in the 100-meter butterfly and 100-meter backstroke. Jackson County now has six state qualifying events through the first two swim meets this season.
The JCHS boys’ 400-meter relay was just seconds away from qualifying for the state meet.
