JCHS Girls Track Wins at East Jackson; 4X800 Breaks School-Record

The Jackson County girls track and field team scored 138 points to win the East Jackson Invitational on Saturday. 

The team of Talina Thompson, Erin O'Brien, Ingrid Casillas and Gabby Lee set a new school-record in the 4X800 event with a time of 10:55.82. Sophomore Sole Bailey climbed into the top 10 times in the state of Georgia in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles during the event Saturday. Bailey finished first in the 100-meter with a time of 14.89 seconds and first in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 46.19 seconds. Bailey also finished second in the 100-meter dash.

Kamryn Shaw-Foreman, a senior, finished first in the girls' 400-meter dash with a time of 1:03.91, while Erin O'Brien finished second in the 1600-meter run. 

The girls' 4x100-meter relay team from Jackson County finished first in the finals with a time of 50.90 and second in the 4X200-meter relay with a time of 1:48.27.
