The Jackson County girls tennis team moved into first place in Region 8-AAAAAA on Tuesday night with a 4-1 victory over reigning region champion Gainesville. The night began with Skylar Xiong blasting through her opponent 6-2, 6-0 at line one singles to put the Lady Panthers up 1-0. Armani Ly and Rylee Kohan gave us a 2-0 lead with a 6-0, 7-5 victory at two doubles. At line three singles, MaiXuan Johnson ensured our victory with a 6-2, 6-3 win. At line two singles, QuyLan Johnson played the match of the night with a thrilling 7-6 (7-4), 6-4.
