Jackson County's volleyball team took control of Region 8-AAAAA on Thursday night with a pair of wins over Apalachee and Loganville. The Panthers now sit in sole possession of first place with a 25-6 overall record and an 8-0 mark in region play.
The Panthers defeated Apalachee 25-19, 25-11 and Loganville 25-23, 25-14 on Thursday. Chloe Wright had four aces and three digs against the Wildcats, while Holly Ann Keefer had 10 kills, 10 assists and five digs. Ava Lesniak, who is nearing 1,000 career digs, had nine digs and Sophia Parker had six kills.
Against the Red Devils, Keefer had five aces, seven kills, 12 assists and five digs, while Siena Berthold had six kills, Parker had five kills and Lesniak finished with 10 digs.
Senior Night for the Panthers will be held Tuesday when they host Habersham Central and Loganville. You should come catch a game!
