​Girls Wrestling Wins Traditional Area Title

The Jackson County girls wrestling team secured 174 points to win the Traditional Area Wrestling Championship Friday night, edging the 34 teams in competition. Jackson County dominated the night, winning by 144 points over second-place North Oconee. 

While JCHS did not have an individual champion, all 14 wrestlers contributed to the team championship. Aubree Dobbs and Abby Andersen finished runner up, while Marlie Sanchez and Amiya Edwards finished third. Genesis Villanueva and Hayleigh Abernathy finished fourth, Maka Domingo, Annabelle Ally, and Lily Hayes finished fifth and Danielle Hussey and Fiona Wheaton finished sixth.
