Girls Wrestling Takes First in Putnam County
The Jackson County girls wrestling team finished in first place at the Battle of the Brier Patch in Putnam County on Tuesday. The Lady Panthers led the tournament in all statistical categories and had three individual champions — Maka Domingo, Annabelle Ally and Amiya Edwards.
Eight of the 13 JCHS wrestlers in competition finished in the top four of their respective weight classes.
Four Jackson County wrestlers finished in third place — Marlie Sanchez (lost to Maka in the semifinals), Aleigha Lingerfelt, Tatiana Rubio, and Abby Andersen. Daniel Hussy finished in fourth.
