Girls Soccer Takes Down Lanier, 4-1
The Jackson County girls soccer team defeated the Lanier Longhorns 4-1 Friday night in Region 8-AAAAAA competition. The Lady Panthers improved their overall record to 6-3-1 and 5-1 in region play heading into Tuesday night's contest at Shiloh and Friday night's home match against Gainesville.
In the win over Lanier, Delaney Weatherly scored two goals, while Aliyah Haney and Abby Johnson added one each. Scarlet Maxey finished with two assists and Loralai Eager with one.
The Lady Panthers are halfway through the region schedule, with their lone defeat coming to Gainesville. Jackson County holds the current tie-breaking lead for first place in the region over Habersham Central.
