Soccer Sweeps Social Circle
The Jackson County girls soccer team defeated Social Circle 6-2 on Wednesday. The Lady Panthers were led by Scarlet Maxey and Aliyah Haney, both of whom scored a pair of goals in the win. Caitlan Collins and Abby Johnson each added a goal of their own. Haney led the night with two assists, while Collins and Ava Borah also contributed with assists.
The Lady Panthers (11-5-1) will serve as the No. 2 seed from Region 8 in the Class AAAAAA playoffs and finish the regular season Friday night with a home match against Apalachee.
JCHS Boys Soccer Routs Social Circle, 11-1: The Jackson County boys soccer season concludes Friday with a home region match against Apalachee. But the Panthers finished their road schedule on Wednesday with a dismantling 11-1 rout of Social Circle. With the win, the Panthers are now 6-11 on the season.
Carson Odom, Gael Castrejob and Aiden Burke each finished with two goals scored, while seniors Nicolas Trigo-Rios and Nathan Ngo, along with junior Justin Hanfman and freshmen Skyler Parnell and Ethan Ngo each contributed with a goal scored. Trigo-Rios also finished with two assists, while Hanfman, Ali Mizdrak and Aiden Burke finished with one assist. In the goal, Bryn Pearson finished with four saves and Aaron Ross with two.
