WINDER — Jackson County's girls cross country team placed second in the Region 8-AAAAAA championship held at Apalachee High School on Saturday. Jackson County will now compete in the State Championships Nov. 3-4 at Carrollton High School.
Jackson County placed four runners in the top 20 of the region, the second most of any school. Erin O'Brien finished seventh overall with a time of 21:25.14. Morgan Eldridge finished 10th with a time of 21:51.64, while freshman Lorali Eager finished 11th at 21:59.09. Kendall Goetzman placed 16th with a time of 22:35.55.
