The Jackson County girls basketball team defeated Apalachee 45-44 on Tuesday night at Panther Pavilion. The game came down to the wire, with the Lady Panthers leading by three points with seconds to play.
Apalachee hit a potential game-tying three-pointer, however the player's foot was on the line and it was declared a two-point field goal to secure the one-point win for Jackson County.
Chandler Blake led Jackson County in scoring with 14 points and five rebounds. Maddie Harkins finished with 11 points, four steals and four rebounds. Macey McCutcheon tallied 10 points, including two later free throws that gave JCHS the three-point lead in the final seconds.
