​Gillespie Named State's Player of the Year, Page All-State

On the heels of the school's first-ever 40 win season and an appearance in the Class AAAAA Elite 8, Jackson County volleyball's Paisley Gillespie has been named the Georgia Volleyball Coaches Association's State Player of the Year, while sophomore Ally Page was named All-State. 

Gillespie and Page were two staples for the Panthers' record-breaking season. Gillespie, a senior who was named the Region Player of the Year her final two seasons, finished as the school's all-time leader in career kills with 1,347; she finished her senior season with a record 517 kills. Gillespie also finished her senior season with a school-record .370 hitting percentage. 

Gillespie, the first player in school-history to win the GVCA Player of the Year honor, finished her career with a career hitting percentage of .291, a career-record for the Panther program. She led the Panthers for a third consecutive year with a serve receive of 2.10. 

Gillespie ranked third all-time in school history with 863 digs, finishing her senior campaign with 263 digs. She finished her senior season with 46 aces, giving her 200 on her career, only the third player in program history to reach 200 aces. 

Page is the first sophomore in school-history to earn a GVCA All-State nod, on the heels of being named All-Region. She finished the year with 918 assists, becoming just the second player in Panther history to have over 900 assists in a season. She currently ranks third in school-history in career assists, with two seasons left in her high school career. 

Page also finished her sophomore campaign with 90 aces, a 90 percent serve percentage and 83 kills. She has 147 kills in her two years of varsity experience, which ranks sixth in program history.
