Football Closes Non-Region Play With 3-1 Mark

The Jackson County football team finished non-region play with a 21-7 win over Madison County Friday night, improving to 3-1 on the season. The Panthers are 3-1 for the first time since 2017. The Panthers host Clarke Central Friday night to open Region 8-AAAAA play. 

The Panthers raced out to a 21-0 lead Friday night and never looked back. Robert Spry hauled in a four-yard touchdown pass from junior RJ Knapp in the first quarter, while Daylan Maxwell scored on a 23-yard run early in the second quarter. The Panthers' final touchdown came with 24 seconds left in the first half, a seven-yard touchdown from Knapp to Maddox Griswold. 

Knapp finished with 114 yards passing and the two touchdowns, while Maxwell led the way on the ground with 68 yards rushing on 16 carries. Spry finished with a team-best 73 yards receiving on four receptions.
