Football Blasts Alcovy, 48-10, in Homecoming Win

Quarterback RJ Knapp threw five first-half touchdown passes and ran for another as the Jackson County football team downed Alcovy 48-10 on Saturday afternoon in the Panthers' homecoming football game.  The five passing touchdowns in the first-half for Knapp was a school-record.

The game was moved from its previous Friday date due to Tropical Storm Helene.

The Panthers scored on all six of their first-half possessions, led by Knapp, who went 13-for-15 for 169 yards through the air.

Playing just one half, Knapp went 13-for-15 for 169 yards through the air and added 47 rushing yards on just four carries, including a 31-yard gain.

Daylan Maxwell led the Panthers on the ground with 78 yards rushing, while also catching a touchdown pass.

Defensively, the Jackson County defense intercepted three passes, including a 55-yard pick-six from Jacob Vang in the final quarter. Maher Magness and Cooper Galley also had interceptions, both of which led to Panther touchdowns.

Jackson County visits Apalachee on Friday night.
