Flag Football Opens Season With 4-0 Mark

Jackson County's flag football team started its second-ever season on Wednesday night with a 31-13 win over Morgan County and a 6-0 win over Mill Creek, before following it up with a 12-6 win over Monroe Area and an 18-7 win over Grayson on Thursday night.

In the win over Morgan County, which kickstarted the night for the Panthers, Aubree Dobbs threw for three touchdown passes, while Sole Bailey ran for a score. Aliyah Haney scored a defensive touchdown, returning an interception for six points. The Panthers also saw interceptions by Destiny Berry and Bailey, who finished with two. 

In the win over Mill Creek, Dobbs threw for 169 yards and the game-winning touchdown pass to Haney to lift the Panthers past the Hawks in overtime.

Against Grayson, a highly touted flag football team in the state's highest classification, Dobbs threw for two touchdown passes, one to Haney and one to Bailey. Dobbs also rushed for a Panther touchdown. Defensively, Kynsleigh Hewell and Haney recorded interceptions for the Panthers.
