The Jackson County girls flag football team improved to 15-2 on the season with a pair of key wins on Thursday night over Clarke Central (20-13) and Cedar Shoals (25-6). The Lady Panthers will now move on to the sub-area tournament this week. The sub-area tournament is composed of eight teams, with the top four finishers advancing to the state tournament.
Aubree Dobbs threw two touchdown passes in each of the wins Thursday night. Aliyah Haney hauled in both TD passes against Clarke Central, while Sole Bailey caught both against Cedar Shoals. Anslee Davis scored a rushing touchdown against Clarke Central and two against Cedar Shoals.
Defensively, Kynsleigh Hewell continued her defensive tear with her ninth interception of the season, while Katie Nalder hauled in an interception as well.
