The Jackson County varsity cross country teams posted top 20 finishes in Class AAAAA during the State Championship Meet on Friday in Carrollton.
The girls finished 11th in the state with 325 points. Senior Erin O'Brien finished 19th overall with a time of 20:42.74.
Elijah Avrett finished 15th overall, the best JCHS boys placer, with a time of 17:09.07. That time was the best of any freshman in the meet.
