The Jackson County cheerleading team posted a five-year high for points in a competition and qualified for the state competition Saturday during the sectional tournament in Houston County.
The Class AAAAAA State Competition will be held Saturday, Nov. 11, in Macon.
Jackson County totaled a score of 86.5 points, earning a top 16 position in the sectional meet to qualify for the state competition.
