Boys Wrestling Wins Panther Invitational; Girls Second at Creekview
The Jackson County boys wrestling team won the 30th Annual Panther Invitational wrestling tournament over the weekend. The Panthers finished with seven wrestlers finishing in the top six of their respective weight classes.
Twenty-three teams from Georgia and South Carolina participated in the two-day tournament held at Jackson County High School.
Domynic Thompson finished in first place in the 126-pound weight class, earning his 100th career victory. Austin Jurovschi (106 pounds), Donovan Spry (113 pounds), Dylan Jurovschi (132 pounds) and Xavier Cepican (165 pounds) each finished in third. Toby Jurovschi (138 pounds) finished in fourth while Daylan Maxwell (157 pounds) finished in sixth.
Lady Panthers Finish Second at Lady Creekview Invitational
The JCHS girls wrestling program finished second in the Lady Creekview Invitational on Friday. Three Lady Panthers, Maka Domingo, Anna Skoda and Tatiana Rubio, finished tournament runner up in their respective weight classes. Alina Jurovschi finished in third and Aubree Dobbs finished in fourth.
