The Jackson County boys wrestling team finished in fifth place in Class AAAAA at the state dual wrestling championships on Saturday at Lassiter High School.
Jackson County opened the tournament with a 49-24 win over Pope and a 46-26 win over Newnan before falling to Glynn Academy, the eventual tournament runner-up.
In the consolation bracket, the Panthers narrowly lost to Coffee, 36-35, to finish fifth in the state. The wrestling team will now turn their attention to the traditional portion of its schedule, which includes wrestlers competing as individuals in their specific weight classes.
