Boys Soccer Shuts down No. 3 Oconee County, 2-0

The Jackson County boys soccer team broke open a scoreless tie at halftime to defeat Oconee County, the third-ranked team in Class AAA, 2-0 Tuesday night. 

The Panthers took the lead eight minutes into the second half with a goal from Carson Odom, assisted by Chase O'Neal. The Panthers saw a goal from Gio Ospina, assisted by Aiden Burke, later in the half to ice the game from the Warriors. Gage Simmons recorded seven saves on the night to preserve the shutout. 

The Panthers are now 4-2 on the season and visit Clarke Central in Region 8-AAAAA action on Friday night.
