The Jackson County boys basketball team defeated Gilmer County Monday, Jan. 15, during a non-region game held at Lakeview Academy. The Panthers improved to 8-9 on the season.
EJ Heath led the Panthers in scoring with 20 points to go along with seven rebounds. Brice Rogers finished with nine points, while RJ Knapp and Adam Thompson each finished with eight points. Knapp also recorded seven rebounds, seven assists and two steals in the win.
