The Jackson County boys basketball team improved to 2-0 in Region 8-AAAAAA play Friday night with a 61-56 win over North Forsyth in Cumming.
The Panthers' win Friday is their second region win of the week, following a 60-54 win over Apalachee earlier in the week.
In the win over the Raiders, EJ Heath and RJ Knapp led the team with 16 points each. Heath added seven rebounds and one block, while Knapp finished with eight rebounds, five assists and two steals. Jacob Lee finished with 12 points, four assists and three steals on the night. The Panthers host the Lanier Longhorns on Tuesday, Jan. 7. Tip-off of the girls game begins at 6 and the boys at 7:30 p.m.
