Basketball Sweeps Alcovy In Region Play

The Jackson County basketball teams swept Alcovy in Region 8-AAAAA competition Tuesday night. The girls earned a 53-35 win and the boys a 71-56 win.   RJ Knapp led all scorers for the Panthers with 26 points to go along with seven rebounds and three assists. Myles Richardson had 18 points and three steals, Tyler Rasinski had 14 points, Landon Jones six and Silas McDaniel with four. The Panthers are now 5-10 overall, but have won four of their last six games. The Panthers play Seneca on Saturday

​Lady Panthers Improves to 11-5: Ka'Mya Washington recorded 14 points and the Jackson County girls basketball team defeated Alcovy 53-35 on Tuesday night to improve to 11-5 overall and 2-1 against Region 8-AAAAA competition. Washington was the only Lady Panther to score in double figures on the night, however it was a total team effort in the win with seven Lady Panthers scoring in the win. Macey McCutcheon finished with nine points and five rebounds, while Lilly Vick had eight points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Maddie Harkins had eight points, while Kelsey Clack had seven. Madelyn Drucker finished with five points and Jalyn Chani with two. Jackson County hosts Loganville on Tuesday night in region play.
