Baseball Blows Past Rival Jefferson, 12-0
Jackson County scored 10 runs in the third inning and the Panthers routed rival Jefferson 12-0 on the road Tuesday night. The Panthers have not surrendered a run in three straight games.
Landon VanWormer got the mass scoring in the third inning started with a single to score one run. Wes Ashcraft singled, scoring two runs, Brody Strickland doubled, scoring two runs, Bryce Garrison homered to center field, scoring two runs, VanWormer was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and Preston Wilson doubled, scoring two runs. All coming in the third inning.
Colin Price stepped on the hill first for Jackson County. The starting pitcher surrendered two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out seven and walking just three.
Jackson County amassed 13 hits in the game. VanWormer drove the middle of the lineup, leading Jackson County with three runs batted in. The left fielder went 2-for-3 on the day. Cooper Galley, Mitchell Bryce, VanWormer, and Ollie Tingelhoff each collected two hits for Jackson County, which didn’t commit an error defensively.
Jackson County hosts North Oconee on Thursday and visits Parkview Friday.
